With the spring thaw starting to get closer with each passing day, I am spending my weekends out driving around looking for new and interesting scenes to capture. I found a nice birch cluster to photograph today, but while making my way out to the trees I kept going through the top layer of frozen snow to the water underneath. My feet got soaked, but it was an enjoyable day just the same.
I really love how the last hints of blue hour provided a lovely soft pastel blue backdrop to the fresh snow cover on the ground. This is a two row, multi column panoramic image that has been blended into a very high resolution image capable of being printed up to 8' wide while remaining extremely sharp and clear.
After capturing a few different versions of the sky during blue hour, it was time to hike back out. It was long after dark with no moon, so I needed to put on my headlamp. While I was hiking back out, I couldn't help but notice how the fresh snow was sparkling as my headlamp lit it up... Wonderful and Serene ...
