Spring, where is spring? It seems to have disappeared this year. Winter has it's grip on Ottawa this year, tonight it will get to below -16 with the winds ... crazy. I drove out to Aylmer Marina today hoping to find some cracks in the ice on the river, to see signs of the river and spring. No where to be seen today. Ah well, it will come one of these days. :)
With the spring thaw starting to get closer with each passing day, I am spending my weekends out driving around looking for new and interesting scenes to capture. I found a nice birch cluster to photograph today, but while making my way out to the trees I kept going through the top layer of frozen snow to the water underneath. My feet got soaked, but it was an enjoyable day just the same.
I really love how the last hints of blue hour provided a lovely soft pastel blue backdrop to the fresh snow cover on the ground. This is a two row, multi column panoramic image that has been blended into a very high resolution image capable of being printed up to 8' wide while remaining extremely sharp and clear.
